Critical metals where the world
needs them most

As the world transitions to a low-carbon economy, critical metals play a pivotal role in enabling a greener, more sustainable planet.

Kataman is at the forefront of this transformation, sourcing and supplying essential materials such as copper, aluminium, zinc, nickel, steel, and more.

With global copper demand projected to double by 2050, the need for sustainable solutions has never been greater. Kataman stands as one of the world’s largest suppliers of recycled copper, with more than 30 years experience connecting producers and consumers, efficiently, reliably and responsibly.

Managing the global supply chain

With a deep understanding of markets and an expansive global network, we manage complex supply chains spanning 50 countries and six continents. Our expertise spans metal sourcing, marketing, financing, logistics, price risk management, and inventory solutions.

Kataman bridges the gap between supply and demand. From origin to destination, we deliver quality critical metals where they are needed most, empowering a sustainable future.

PAVING THE WAY FOR SUSTAINABLE METAL PRODUCTION

Korea Zinc, the world’s largest producer of zinc, lead, and silver, is expanding its leadership into the production of critical metals such as copper, nickel, and lithium – key materials essential to the green energy transition and global decarbonization.

As a global leader in supplying high-quality recycled metals, Kataman plays a vital role in this transformation. Through its acquisition of Kataman, Korea Zinc secures a reliable supply of recycled copper, enabling the production of 150,000 tonnes of copper cathode annually. This positions Korea Zinc to become one of the largest producers of copper cathode made entirely from recycled metals, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

PAVING THE WAY FOR SUSTAINABLE METAL PRODUCTION

Korea Zinc, the world’s largest producer of zinc, lead, and silver, is expanding its reach into the production of critical metals like copper, nickel, and lithium—key materials needed to drive the global green energy transition and decarbonize industries.

As a leader in the supply of high-quality recycled metals, Kataman plays a crucial role in this shift. Operating across more than fifty countries, we source recycled copper from regions where it’s abundant and deliver it to where it’s needed most.

With the acquisition of Kataman, Korea Zinc will secure a reliable feedstock of recycled copper, enabling the production of 150,000 tonnes of copper cathode per year. This move positions Korea Zinc to become one of the largest producers of copper cathode made entirely from recycled metals, driving a more sustainable future for the industry.
